Fallen tells the story of the fall of the angel Lucifer ("Lou") and the creation of humankind. The story begins on day number six, the “day” that God created Adam. Heaven is a rigid bureaucracy where each angel is tasked with an eternal duty to help maintain Eden and all the creatures in it. When Lou is charged with the solo mission to visit Eden and guide Adam through his first moments as man, he finds that he begins to question the power of God, the strictures within Heaven, and on top of it all: his new and complicated feelings for Adam. When his love for Adam has dire consequences, Lou must find his own truth about creation, perfection, and faith in completely uncharted territory.
